I bought this book to become better acquainted with the program. I would expect a book with a cover stating “a complete training program” to have ALL features of an application examined to some extent. Not the end of the world, but I learn better with hard copy material in front of me rather than videos, and again the book proclaims to be a complete training program. I purchased this Illustrator CS6 training book based on other favorable comments and I do not regret my decision at all.

This book is excellent and the training videos are very easy to follow and very informative and useful. While the training videos are also available online, I recommend copying the videos to your computer for uninterrupted and easier viewing; I have experienced some “video not available” and delayed downloading while trying to watch the videos online.

While I do have extensive experience with Illustrator CS6, I still found this book very informative, useful, and will be a great reference book for current and future use. I had to buy this book for class since I’m majoring in Graphic Design. I rented it a semester ago but didn’t think I needed it again. Boy, was I wrong.

The CD that comes with it is very helpful. If you’re a visual learner, this book is for you. The shipping was great. I thought I could just learn Adobe Illustrator from online courses and figure things out as I go. But I was wrong. This book has explained a lot of information I could not get online.

Especially getting a clean slate every time I bring up Illustrator. I would definitely recommend this product. I could make everything larger using my kindle and my computer. I found this book to be very useful and would recommend it to other people. So far, this book has been pretty good at introducing illustrator. I have only gotten through the first few chapters but, I like it. One person found this helpful. The videos do make things easy to follow along.

However, it seems to dumbed down too much. I’m on chapter six, and I’ve yet to do any drawing by myself; most of it is just coloring the files provided or perhaps moving shapes around.
