This integration should include colocation of the disciplines in the same or adjacent faculties, course sharing, teaching of architectural design and structural analysis courses by subject experts, emphasis on multidisciplinary design software such as Revit, and encouragement of teamwork by encouraging the use of some form of Building Information Modelling BIM for the design, analysis and costing of structures.

The establishment of multi-disciplinary consulting firms should be encouraged by removing legal bottlenecks to registration, and by giving them preference in the Public Procurement Act.
